Who operates MEFL
My Elite Fantasy League ("MEFL") is a hobby-stage service operated from Ireland. For privacy questions or requests, contact admin@myelitefantasyleague.com. MEFL is currently in the process of becoming a registered company, and this notice will be updated when that registration is complete.
Information MEFL processes
- Account information, including email address, display name, role and account status.
- A connected FPL entry ID.
- Public FPL league, manager, team, standings, Gameweek, transfer, squad, chip, captaincy and history information.
- Competition settings, participation, scores, fixtures and results generated by MEFL.
- Information derived for Strategy and Recap, such as comparisons, summaries and highlights.
- Security and operational information, including IP address, user agent, audit events, login attempts, import and refresh events, and errors.
Information needed to use account features
An email address and authentication credentials are required to create and use an MEFL account. You do not need an MEFL account simply to view public league pages. An FPL entry ID is only required if you choose to connect an FPL entry or use a feature that requires it.
Where FPL information comes from
MEFL uses publicly accessible Fantasy Premier League information. MEFL does not ask for or store your FPL username, password, authentication cookies or other private FPL credentials.
People without MEFL accounts
An imported FPL league can include managers who have never created an MEFL account. Their publicly available FPL-derived information may still appear in league dashboards, competitions, Strategy and Recap.
Public visibility
Listed league pages are public. They may display manager and team names, scores, ranks, transfers, captaincy, chips, competition participation and results. Listed pages may be crawled and indexed by search engines and other public web services.
An unlisted league is not private. It remains accessible to anyone with its direct link, does not appear in Discover, is excluded from MEFL's sitemap, and carries a noindex instruction for search engines. It may still be discovered elsewhere if somebody shares or links to its direct URL.
Why MEFL uses this information
- To create and operate accounts.
- To import, maintain and present FPL leagues.
- To calculate standings and competition results.
- To generate Strategy and Recap features.
- To secure and administer the service.
- To troubleshoot problems and improve reliability.
- To respond to support and privacy requests.
Lawful bases
Where applicable, MEFL relies on performance of a contract to provide account and service functions requested by registered users. MEFL may rely on legitimate interests to secure and administer the service, operate public FPL-derived league features, and process relevant information about managers who do not have accounts. These interests are considered against the rights of the people concerned. If MEFL introduces a feature that genuinely requires consent, consent will be requested for that purpose and may be withdrawn.
Automated fantasy-football outcomes
MEFL automatically calculates rankings, winners, eliminations, head-to-head outcomes, Team Play contributions, and Strategy and Recap summaries from league and competition data. These calculations affect fantasy-football competition outcomes only. They are not used to make decisions with legal or similarly significant real-world effects.
Cookies and browser storage
Normal signed-in sessions use browser local storage. Legacy league administration uses a strictly necessary mefl_admin cookie. The hosting and security platform may also set cookies needed to deliver and protect the service. MEFL does not currently use advertising or behavioural analytics tools in the application.
Service providers and data sources
MEFL uses Lovable to develop and host the service, Supabase for authentication and data services, and Cloudflare for delivery and security infrastructure. Fantasy Premier League / Premier League is the source of publicly accessible FPL information; it is not described here as a service provider processing data for MEFL. MEFL does not sell personal data.
International processing
MEFL is operated from Ireland, but its service providers may process information in more than one country. Where data-protection law requires safeguards for an international transfer, MEFL relies on the safeguards available under the relevant provider arrangements. The exact processing and storage locations depend on those arrangements.
Retention
- Account information is generally kept while the account exists.
- Historical league and competition information may be kept for as long as the league remains on MEFL.
- Deleting a league removes its associated league, competition and import information, subject to minimal audit evidence and any provider-controlled backup or log retention.
- Support correspondence may be kept for up to 12 months after resolution or the last substantive contact where needed.
- Operational and security logs are kept only as long as reasonably necessary for security, diagnostics and accountability.
As a hobby-stage service, MEFL currently manages some retention manually rather than through fully automated deletion jobs.
Account and league deletion
Account deletion is currently handled manually by an administrator rather than through a self-service privacy portal. When an MEFL account is deleted, the authentication account, profile, role assignments and connected FPL-entry link are removed. League, competition and public FPL history may remain where that information forms part of a shared league or competition record rather than belonging solely to the deleted account. Audit or security evidence and provider-controlled logs or backups may also remain where legitimately required. A request to delete a league is handled separately and is subject to ownership or administrator checks.
Your privacy rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data, restrict its use, object to processing, receive portable data where applicable, and withdraw consent where MEFL relies on consent. Send requests to admin@myelitefantasyleague.com. MEFL may ask for proportionate information to verify that the requester is entitled to the data. MEFL aims to handle valid requests within the timeframe required by the GDPR; request handling is currently manual.
Search engines and external copies
If MEFL removes or changes information on its own pages, search engines, caches or other third parties may take time to update. MEFL cannot guarantee immediate removal from external indexes or copies it does not control.
Security
MEFL uses technical and organisational measures intended to protect information. No internet service or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Complaints
Please contact MEFL first if you have a privacy concern. You may also make a complaint to the Irish Data Protection Commission.
Changes to this policy
MEFL may update this policy as the service changes. The effective and last-updated dates above show when this version took effect. Material privacy changes may be communicated by email or a prominent in-app notice where appropriate.
